    There's more than one art form! This culture and gastronomy circuit takes you from Toulouse to Cahors via Montauban. On the way you'll come across not only young contemporary artists but also world-famous masters such as Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Henri Martin. A feast for the eyes, the soul, and the taste buds too: to add another dimension to your sightseeing, we include another art form, suggesting dining options at restaurants run by Michelin-starred chefs who have brought culinary fame to Midi-Pyrénées.

      Day 1: Toulouse (Haute-Garonne)

      • Morning: visit the historic centre of Toulouse on foot to marvel at its beautiful brick architecture, breathe in the smell of the markets and soak up the laid-back but buzzing atmosphere.
      • Afternoon: visit Les Abattoirs and celebrate modern and contemporary art at one of France's most dynamic museums. Among the most spectacular exhibits is Picasso's theatre curtain La dépouille de Minotaure en costume d’Arlequin (The Minotaur's corpse dressed as Harlequin, 1936)..
      • Overnight in Toulouse.

      Day 2 : Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne)

      • Morning: depart for Montauban
        45min. – 55 Km
        Instead of taking the A62 autoroute to Montauban, take exit 10 and follow the undulating road (N20 then D820) through the Fronton AOC vineyards. The wineries are signposted. Maison des Vins de Fronton, in Fronton town.
      • Afternoon: visit the Musée Ingres in Montauban, which contains all of the works and the outstanding graphics collection that Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780-1867) bequeathed to his birthplace..
      • Overnight in Montauban.

      • Fine dining option:

      Practical information

      Day 3: Cahors (Lot)

      • Morning: depart for Cahors
        45 min. – 60 Km
        Instead of taking the A20 autoroute to Cahors, take exit 59 and follow the pleasant N20, now a much quieter road, via Caussade.
        On the way, make a short detour to visit the pretty 'bastide' town of Montpezat-de-Quercy and its unique collection of 16th century Flemish tapestries that adorn the collegiate church there.
      • Afternoon: visit the Permanent exhibition of the works of Henri Martin (1860-1943) the neo-impressionist artist who settled in the Lot Valley and who is today extremely popular in Japan. Then visit the historic centre of Cahors, officially recognised as a Ville d’Art et d’Histoire.
      • Overnight in Cahors and end of circuit.
