Many accommodation providers in Occitania / Pyrenees-Mediterranean are currently working towards compliance with the new classification standards laid down by the French government. The changes affect hotels
live dealer 21, camp sites, furnished holiday lets, holiday residences, holiday villages and residential holiday parks.
The new standards are designed to harmonise the ratings systems of all these types of accommodation in a voluntary scheme awarding 1 to 5 stars, with participating accommodation providers agreeing to regular inspections.
The purpose of the new classification is:
- To make it easier for you to compare the various options using a rating system (the stars) common to all forms of accommodation and which corresponds to international standards in terms of levels of comfort and quality of service.
- To guarantee that you are staying in accommodation which is subject to regular inspections (every 5 years), carried out by specialist independent organisations.
- To allow you to choose a place to stay that has opted for quality by voluntarily signing up to the new classification system.
