Verrerie Ouvrière d’Albi, which everybody here knows as VOA, was established in 1896 on the initiative of
Jean Jaurès. True to the principles of the great politician, VOA has always
put the workers at the heart of the industry. "Quality staff make quality glass" is the motto of the company, which employs nearly 300 people.
Giant furnaces, molten raw material, colourful sparks… On a tour of this plant, which is part of the industrial heritage of Midi-Pyrénées, you will see the manufacturing processes that today are used to produce
a million bottles a day.
VOA bottles, which are exported to some twenty countries, are mainly
made from recycled glass. Following the production lines in the plant, you will also see how these bottles stand out because of
their many colours, in a range that includes cinnamon, russet, extra-black and extra-white.
