Wolves are part of the history of the Pyrenees and there is still a lot of other wildlife in these mountains (bears, otters, marmots and more), thriving in sanctuaries like the Parc Animalier des Pyrénées in Argelès-Gazost (Hautes Pyrénées).
Still in the Pyrenees, there is no shortage of birds of prey wheeling in the sky and putting on great shows in historical surroundings like the Donjon de Beaucens (Hautes Pyrénées) and Château de Lordat (Ariège), vying spectacularly for your attention with the eagles of the Rocher de Rocamadour (Lot).
What's more, there are a host of family destinations and animal farms run by animal lovers where you can discover the beauty and learn about the amazing behaviour of various different animals: reptiles, bison, snails, bees, migratory birds and not forgetting farm animals too.
